James B. Olcott letter to Mr. [Alfred Bennett?]Crandall [manuscript], 1889 Dec 14.

In a letter to Mr. Crandall, Olcott thanks him for publishing his "scribble" in the "World," which had been sent to him by others. He admits that he is rather ashamed of it, but he is very much affected by the friendliness in the act of sending it. He notes that mailing an occasional number is more of a chore than if his name was put on books and he got his paper by an indifferent hand. He then reminisces about the past in flowery phrases, including lines about his wife.
